There is only one town in the world called Pontefract, where modern day people living in the town are maintaining it's significance to liquorice, a medicinal herb having the history of 4000 years. To express our sincere appreciation to the Pontefract Liquorice Festival, a Japanese firm living on liquorice as a food, drug and cosmetics ingredient, was inspired to get involved in the Festival and decided to support it in a spiritual way.  Although the line of business of liquorice-oriented firms are totally different from any one of those in England, so the participation of the company in the festival would produce no profit, the idea of supporting the festival will surely give the company a confidence that she is helping to serve the people in the modern world with the health benefit of time-honored liquorice, a king of the crude drugs.  May the Pontefract Liquorice Festival be forever!!
